Freshens Breath Too

I saw a new commercial for Renuzit Crystal Elements and immediately saw the hazard they pose to children. The bright colors and and rounded shapes combined with 'your favorite glass container' make these crystals look delicious. I'm really not sure what they were thinking here. Who designed this? A room freshener that looks like candy? I don't smell 'Ruby Berries' I smell a lawsuit.
Looking around the Renuzit website, I found the following:
Renuzit® Crystal Elements® air freshener is made from naturally occurring sea salt (sodium chloride) that is coated with fragrance and colorant. Sodium chloride, also known as table salt, is also used to de-ice driveways and in home water-softener systems. As the major ingredient in table salt, it is commonly used as a condiment and food preservative.
As with other household products, we recommend that Renuzit® Crystal Elements® air freshener be kept out of reach of children and pets. Renuzit® Crystal Elements® contains Bitrex, a bittering agent that tastes awful and will make you want to spit the crystal out as soon as it comes in contact with your mouth. Warning labels have been applied to the package and the glass jar to remind consumers that this is an air freshener, not food, and should not be consumed.
Seems like Renuzit realized somewhere along the line that this product may be mistaken for candy and instead of fixing the problems with the design of this product, they decided to throw a disclaimer on it.
On a related note, how many methods do we need to make our house smell like 'mountain rain' or 'spiced orchards'? This is not innovative, this is beating a dead horse. Let's see something new.
